Sierra de Santa Marta - El Dorado Lodge

I have spent a lifetime on the road, been to many incredible places. This panoramic extravaganza room is literally the peak peek at 2,600m at the end of a very tough 4x4 road, even by Aussie standards.

This is the window on the Sierra de Santa Marta, the world's highest coastal mountain range at 5,300m. All I can do, morning, afternoon, evening, sunset, dawn is be there and marvel at the light, the swirling clouds, the stars, the silence above the twinkling lights of the town of Santa Marta and the enormous La Cienaga lagoon far, far below. Bacanisimo!

Not only the view from the restaurant is stupendous, the food is also sublime. The cocktails are not bad either.
