Loved the jeep, 1972, American, 4wd hubs, dodgy doors kept opening at 11kph, kinda tarp windows, bit frayed, so free aircon and intermittent shower for Gen. I had my body wrapped around the gearstick, so let Gen enjoy the breeze!
A few tricky landslides, this was a 'trocha' or horsetrack, narrow, had quite a laugh explaining to Jorge our conductor about cassowaries. He was blown away that the males do all the chick rearing!
A trail through the forest took us to the quaint Rufous Antpitta.
The cherry on the cake was several sightings of a cloud-tiger cat. He had become a nuisance in the farm where he had killed 10 chickens. So the owners started feeding him fish. The trick worked, the killings stopped.
