A
day's trip north of Uluru, we spent three hours being wowed on our
King's Canyon Rim Walk. A steep climb took us skywards up the canyon
edge to continue along the rim, through domed lost city formations, down
into a leafy creek, then a slow traverse back to earth.
A helpful sign
on the trail advised that wallaby poop is teardrop shaped, but the
roo-like Euro produces cube droppings which prompted me to wonder how it
came to possess such a miraculous back orifice.
Nearby,
King's Creek Station had super bush campsites where we indulged in
camel burgers cooked on the barbie. In the evening, at dusk, a dingo
appeared beside the fire and seemed on the hunt for handouts - a loud
shout from me scared him off. The Station specialises in camel sales,
camel meat, and we saw some out in the wilds.
