En Route to Eighty Mile Beach

From Broome we headed South to the coastal campsite at easygoing Barn Hill Station for a couple of days where the senior vibe was kick back and enjoy the beach and the delightful rough and ready atmosphere.

Our next stop, Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park, was more rules driven with neatly trimmed hedges and delineated sites for the older folks fishing, yarning, and basking in the sun on the vast beach filled with shells. Plenty of retirees from the East coast were avoiding lockdowns and lapping up the winter warmth of northern WA.

The beach is gigantic. The tide recedes a couple of kms, leaving plenty of room for walking towards the distant horizon, inspecting the latest items left stranded, admiring the sunset sand patterns, and watching 4wds spinning down the beach tracks.

Fishing in style is an option on offer.
