Rolling into Bush Pubs

On the road to Cloncurry, we visited a couple of bush pubs.

The Blue Heeler in Kynuna is where legend says Banjo Paterson's song Waltzing Matilda was first played. Although we eagerly anticipated homemade camel pie for lunch, we were crestfallen to have to make do with reheated quiche.

Next stop was the original Walkabout Creek Hotel of Crocodile Dundee fame at McKinlay. Inside are a few props from the film, a chainsaw joke, and a cardboard cut-out of Croc Dundee to cuddle. We had a fun evening with the travellers passing through, plus chooks and two gigantic turkeys outside.
