Longreach is a small Outback town with a number of heritage-listed sites. Lovely old buildings line its main street.
First up, we had delicious smoko tea and scones with jam and cream.
The event was held inside a building featuring memorabilia from the old droving days.
Then we went to the yard to see the horses, coach and drivers. Buck, the lovely kelpie, was a hoot because he was trained to photobomb selfies on command.
Gen went on top at the back where the well off lawyers and doctors would usually sit. I went in the inside of the coach usually reserved for drunks and riff-raff.
We rolled out of town and into the Bush onto the old Cobb and Co. road. Picking up speed, we rumbled through the dust before returning at a gallop.

Next event was the Harry Redford Show, a slapstick show with our compere singing ballads about cattle duffer (rustler) Harry Redford.
Co-stars of the show were Westpac, a frisky sheep dog who left a deposit in the bank, a cute terrier dog called Whisky, who arrived in a suitcase, a naughty horse called Michael, who kept eating his saddle cloth, and a fat donkey called Pete who rolled on his back whilst threatening to fart or worse on the audience.

In between songs, our driver now turned actor joked with the compere through a skit about being hired for Harry's mob to go rustling.
