Dawn at Lake Conjola

A break in the weather was enough to head down the coast to the beauty of Lake Conjola where the river waters meet the sea.

Everyone is on holiday here, including very laid back Roos, birds, and fish. Large flocks of rainbow lorikeets swoop down and cling to you with scratchy feet for a feed of seed or veggies. Roos lounge around during the day or quietly munch and leave olives everywhere after dark.

The big attractions are water sports, boating and fishing for flathead and whiting and even a crab.

For a special treat we were up at dawn and off to the mouth of the lake where it meets the sea sending rollers, breakers, and wave patterns along the shore.

Inky clouds parted for the ascending sun to send shafts of golden light down to the sea. Nature provides the show, we just need to be there.

We walked back through sand dunes lit up by the lovely golden morning light breaking through threatening black clouds.
