From Old Faithful Waterhole to Kalpowar Crossing was only an hour's drive, but we came across a trio of brolgas, scenic termite mounds and a road gang in full road rebuild mode on the way.

Kalpowar Crossing campsite has great cold showers, water to fill our bellies (the neighbours said the non-potable signs were just to protect the liability of the National Parks - so far we have not keeled over, and a pleasant outlook on the Normanby River which tumbles over the road crossing to the remote east coast of Melville Bay.
