Replenished with food, booze, fuel and water, we left Newman to drive 70km up the road to an unsigned, pretty rough track to Wanna Munna, 2kms off the bitumen, a delightful gorge of major indigenous importance.
Dozens of fine petroglyph depictions, including roos and humans, shine in the early morning and late afternoon sun.
The track was too rough for poor Hughie and did not allow us to camp by the gorge itself, so we camped just above.
Next morning, we got up to witness a golden sunrise over spinifex.

Soon it was time for Robert to perform his least favourite task: to put the aircon cover up. A lot of fine people pay good money for potions and lotions to tan their skin in exotic locations. A free tip from me, not available on my Instagram or OnlyFans pages, is to visit the Pilbara, take your aircon cover off and put it back on several times a week. You will achieve an unbelievable pinkening of the extremities and be the bronzed God or Goddess of social media!
