Wolfe Creek: The Big Crater Shock

From Halls Creek, we headed to the famed, dirt Tanami Road. We had been told that its condition was not too good at the moment, but what a nice surprise when we met the grader, leaving the road as  smooth as velvet.

On the way, we got stuck behind two colossal mining truck transporters. Even with CB communication, they proved too challenging to overtake and we stayed behind.

The weather blew cold and lifted huge flocks of corellas as we walked up to the rim of the crater, then looked across to appreciate the impressive force when the meteorite hit 300,000 years ago.
