Arizona - Javelinas and A Road Movie Misunderstanding

The B&B had a troupe of javelinas (snuffling wild pigs) regularly piling through the garden at breakfast time - they are myopic with a great sense of smell (they are also odiferous themselves) and would come up close before recoiling with a jump in the air after sensing our presence.

From this genteel B&B we went to a ranch which was very different - our breakfast was served by a real character wearing a T-Shirt tastefully inscribed 'I only fart in your general direction'. That made the mesquite pancakes go down well.

Talking of ranches, on our last visit here we went to one near Tucson where we met a film crew. The lead actor was a friendly Scotsman with a broad accent who told us he had just seen a snake scale the wall by the swimming pool and take a fledgling from the nest. He also said he had received a frosty reception when he explained to locals that he was making a road movie. Why do you need to come here to get your clothes off? No, he explained, a road movie not a rude movie!
