Bribie Island

We have lucked out and are housesitting a million dollar home on the waterfront of Bribie Island, an hour north of Brisbane, with an extra large, lazy rescue pussy-cat who seems to suffer PTSD from trauma she cannot tell us.

 

Our daily morning ritual started with the arrival of a juvenile magpie pressing his beak against the window, urging the delivery of grated cheese. Not to be outdone, his parents invited themselves to the party plus a couple of butcherbird mates.

Life at Robert's 71st Girthday rolls like this:
Oysters Kilpatrick (thin bacon strips, shallots, Worcester sauce, Tabasco, Mutti sauce)
Scallops in a white wine, cream and shallots sauce, leeks, lemon and dill
Bugs with Tartare sauce
Salmon cooked in butter, lemon and dill
Layered chocolate desert

Washed down with a bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc.
