The Coaster mob contains tubby, thin, short, tall and amusing characters. Not least are the furbabies, full of quirks and with eyes that bore deep to melt hearts at treat time.

During the day, we mingled, joked and stickybeaked our neighbours' vehicles. Conversation competed with barking dogs, passing showers, and the welcoming of new arrivals.

At midday, Sharleen arrived to celebrate her dotty dachshund's birthday with a huge, doggy cake and a hooman chocolate mud cake. In the barking mad confusion, some humans expecting chocolate, sank their teeth into potato 'icing' made so appealing for the pooches.

At happy hour, we eagerly awaited the curry competition. Gas cookers, camp ovens, and ecopots had spent hours prepping delicious flavours from secret recipes.
We waylaid a friendly couple of caravanners to be the judges. Dishes varied from curried roo, chicken and sausage in thai and spicy flavours to better luck next time, what the heck is that?

The winner was Sharon or Shaz, picked for her lime zest, who received the elegant 2022 Curry Dunny Trophy. So much fun and laughter.

Gen's Thai chicken curry with dahl, polished off in a jiffy, was my unbiased favourite which arrived late and landed sadly out of sight for the judges.
