On Australia Day, we visited idyllic Lucky Bay with its sheltered, crystal clear waters, blinding white, squeaky sand, and tons of happy Aussies frolicking in the waves.
Just down the road, we took a look at Whistling Rock where the sounds of the sea resonate. Rob got back into foetus position as a good ole fossil within a fossil egg.
Another day, yet more stunning beaches beneath Table Island and a lunch break at Wharton Beach, just the perfect seaside pleasure.
Close to Esperance, a loop road took us to beautiful West Beach and on to Twilight Beach where the clear waters were a delight for boogie boarders and excited dogs.
As a result of our farmsitting, whilst we were watching the nailbiting Nadal/Medvedev Men’s Singles Final, we had a hilarious call from a guy in the Wheatbelt region asking if we would like to look after his new business of 300 meat goats. We just needed to check they stayed healthy, didn’t have scouring or diarrhoea and keep them safe from intruders. Only water on offer, no power, no bathroom, just a place on 15 hectares to park the bus. Perk of the job was the use of a firearm to shoot bunnies for the pot. Dream life for Rob and Gen Dundee!
After a super break in a loaned house in Esperance, we booked a campsite at Lucky Bay. En route we dropped into amazing Hellfire Bay, a splendid sparkling combination of rocks, turquoise water, fine sandy beach and even a frisky pod of dolphins close inshore.
Next morning we drove onto the beach and lazed on the sand with a mid morning iced coffee from the handy mobile cafe. Whilst watching daytrippers frolicking, we were suddenly visited by Mum roo and her offspring looking for forbidden treats.
