Flower Bonanza: Nalbarra Station

For a bit of rustic rural bliss, we stayed at Nalbarra sheep station, next to the old shearer's quarters which are now used for accommodation.

The last sheep had been shorn 18 years ago. Now the owners ran Dorper sheep, not for wool, but for their meat. In the courtyard is a huge fire ring for those Happy Hours and socialising.

In the morning we stopped by the side of the 17km access road that was thronged with spectacular, thick carpets of scented flowers of all colours underlaid with green moss.

Crimson chats, budgies, and honeyeaters sang, danced and mated in the trees. What a show!
