Broome - Roaming the Town

Cable Beach has a shimmering aura to the endless white beach and blue water at low tide.

It's a fun playground for 4wds to drive onto the sand, picnic, enjoy happy hour, and breathe in the freedom.

A wedding was taking place on the beach, complete with vintage cars.

Trains of camels trundle past the surf. Whilst tourist riders bob in the saddle, the tail end employee jumps off to shitpick deposits into their treasure box that escape the camel nappy.

Out and about in Broome, everyone is relaxed, especially when the sun dips and happy hour starts.

Perched on the edge of town, Gantheaume Point competes with Cable Beach for blazing colour and scenic beauty.

Dramatic, eroded rocks beneath the lighthouse reflect the heat and honey colours of the afternoon.

A fluffy osprey chick perches in its nest halfway up the lighthouse tower and cries to be fed by the incoming mother carrying a fish.

The astounding annual migration of birds for huge distances in a few days from Siberia and beyond, makes Broome Bird Observatory a birding hotspot.

A notorious red dirt road with shocker rocker corrugation leads to the observatory which fronts across the road onto the shore of Roebuck Bay with quirky, Salvador Dali-esque rocks.

A small hide attracts small birds and flocks of doves. Ibises also briefly arrive, snort their fear and crash off through the trees. Crested Pigeons and Doves also come in numbers.
