Kick Off for Big Lap 2: Australia Revisited

Big Lap 2: Australia Revisited started in late October from Brisbane. A massive rain event in SW Queensland was great news for farmers, but closed all the roads and meant we changed our plans to head south instead to the far Outback corners of Queensland and NSW.

On our journey we stopped for a couple of days at the small town of Dirranbandi.

For months if not years, the skies had dropped a few dabs of moisture, but out of the blue there was a true downpour of only 7mm in the town, however in a patchy distribution across the region, as much as 100mm in Bourke. Farmers danced with glee with and without their underpants, rolling in the joyous liquid.
