On Sunday morning the rains descended briefly at the crack of dawn, but we went to Palm Cove anyway and were rewarded by a sunrise over an unusually high tide.
High waves broke across the northern inlet where Gen pranced with her tripod in the waves whilst Robert kept an eye out for the signposted crocs.
A couple of oystercatchers perched on one leg eyed us sleepily as the sea foamed and splashed up the creek. At last, the sun broke through the clouds and bathed the coastline in golden light.
To round off the morning we joined other photographers for breakfast at Vivo restaurant - eggs benedict and stacks of pancakes went down a treat with flat whites. Life is sooooo good!
