Life in the Tropics includes a brush with tropical cyclones, like the one called Nora which just missed Cairns in March, but dumped hundreds of mm of thunderous rain on our heads in the space of a few days. Right across the region we had raging floods, rivers in full spate, waterfalls roaring, and roads and rail links in nearby Redlynch at high water.
