New Roots - Post Big Lap

After the Big Lap, it takes a while to get used to having inside space again.  With the exception of three weeks of nonstop rain in Queensland, our Big Lap was bathed in daily sunshine and we lived dawn to dusk in the Big Outside.

Our new rental house in Kiama is on two floors, both light and airy. The top balcony, with its views across the ocean, is a wonderful, breezy, cool place for coffee in the morning at sunup, or for the glass of chilled white wine in the evening as the sun goes down.

Other appreciated modcons include, a massive fridge and freezer that really chills and keeps up with temperatures over 35c without groaning like the campervan fridge. Using the loo at night no longer involves a trek in the moonlight to the site facilities, but just a short two steps to the ensuite.

Our first few weeks took us exploring the local coastal areas, the beach and amazing quarry at Bombo, the iconic Cathedral rock just beyond, and the laidback, palmtree fringed community in the town where the Big Blowhole whooshes sky high in stormy weather.
