Gambia - Gambian TV Dinner at Baobolong Georgetown on an Island up North

We are seated at a table under enormous whitewashed trees in the courtyard. Also in the courtyard, a TV displays Gambia's sole TV channel which is playing "Happy Birthday to you" on an endless loop. This is a touching programme broadcast nationwide  to wish 'Happy Birthday' to members of the population born on this day whose mugshots accompany the music. Meanwhile the fruit bats overhead chirrup along enthusiastically to the music.
