Big Red

Standing at 30 metres in height, this awesome sand dune, Big Red, provides a challenge for any four wheel drive enthusiast. Having done our homework on dune driving, we took the eastern approach at 0830am when the cool sand compacted better, aired down to 16psi, engaged auto in 3...and waltzed up slow and easy, no worries.

 

Up on top of Big Red's drifting sands, we admired the views and the tracks of nighttime creatures on the rampage. Next, we needed to do a foot recce first, to find one of the handful of westside downward exits.
